Live Music at the GPO Bar + Kitchen
A new Irish bar and restaurant has quietly opened on the Granville Strip.
The GPO Bar + Kitchen replaced Donnellan’s Chipper – a short-lived Irish fast-food concept which formerly operated at 1224 Granville Street.
- The GPO Bar + Kitchen promises quality food and beverage in a “pretension free environment” right in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
The ‘GPO’ in the name stands for the General Post Office, which was a Dublin landmark associated with the uprising that led to the Irish Independence.
The new spot has most of the same owners as Donnellan’s Chipper but now, the concept has been rebranded from a chipper to a bar.
GPO offers brunch until 3 pm and on live music on weekends as well.
